About the position

The IT Project Manager will oversee software development programs and projects, ensuring they align with departmental goals. This role requires exceptional communication skills and expertise in project management, particularly in Agile and DevOps methodologies. The position is focused on managing large, cross-divisional projects and facilitating effective collaboration among stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with department staff and stakeholders.
  • Manage software development projects in accordance with PMI's PMBOK Guide standards.
  • Lead large, cross-divisional, and cross-functional software development programs/projects.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering and Joint Application Design sessions.
  • Prepare Legislative Budget Requests (LBR), Statements of Work (SOW), and Operational Work Plans (OWP).
  • Manage documentation using MS SharePoint and facilitate communications through MS Teams.

Requirements

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of IT project management experience, including software development programs/projects.
  • Proficiency in Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • At least five (5) years of experience managing projects according to PMI standards.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience managing large, cross-divisional, and cross-functional software development projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience leading Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Microsoft Power Platform development programs/projects.
  • Program Management Professional (PgMp) certification.
  • Experience with cloud solution development programs/projects leveraging low/no-code platforms.
  • Strong ability to communicate with IT leadership and business leadership.
  • Familiarity with State Purchasing rules, processes, and documentation.
  • Understanding of Information Technology purchasing processes and practices.
  • Experience managing projects for a Florida state Information Technology PMO.
  • Experience creating a Solution Definition Framework or ISDM.
