About the position

The IT Project Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the security compliance of IT systems within the agency. This position involves collaborating closely with system architects, engineers, developers, and administrators to facilitate Security Readiness Reviews (SRRs) and ensure that all systems meet the necessary security standards. The Project Manager will utilize automated tools to perform vulnerability scans and generate compliance reports, leading the end-to-end process of obtaining an Authority to Operate (ATO). This includes overseeing the activities required to maintain that authority, ensuring that all security protocols are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle. In addition to technical responsibilities, the IT Project Manager will engage with customers to gather requirements and define the project scope. This customer interaction is vital for understanding the needs of the agency and ensuring that the IT solutions provided are aligned with those needs. The Project Manager will employ and manage the Agile (SCRUM) development life cycle, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining high standards of quality. Documentation is another key aspect of this role. The Project Manager will be responsible for keeping comprehensive records of IT systems, reviewing and revising content related to regulations, standards, and mandates that govern the operation of federal information systems. This documentation is essential for compliance and for providing a clear framework for the security measures in place. Finally, the IT Project Manager will provide secure solutions and problem resolution to customers, offering technical recommendations and conducting outreach and training to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and equipped to handle the systems effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist system architects, engineers, developers, and administrators to ensure security compliance and conduct Security Readiness Reviews (SRRs).

Requirements
