About the position

The IT Project Manager at Meridian Bioscience is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet specified requirements. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including software developers and network engineers, to implement IT initiatives that align with the company's strategic goals. The position requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage resources and stakeholder relationships effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and senior management.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Establish project governance structures, including project charters and stakeholder communication plans.
  • Lead project teams, ensuring that all members understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Monitor project progress, manage scope, schedule, and budget to ensure that project milestones are met.
  • Use project management tools and techniques to track and report on project status, risks, and issues.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications, ensuring clear and timely updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and resolve issues.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and third-party service providers involved in the project.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans as needed.
  • Proactively address project challenges and obstacles, ensuring that issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
  • Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.
  • Conduct regular project reviews, audits, and testing to verify that objectives are being met.
  • Allocate and manage project resources, including personnel and software tools.
  • Develop and implement change management plans to ensure smooth adoption of new systems or processes.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports and risk logs.
  • Prepare and present regular project updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in IT project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex IT projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Asana).
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile Scrum Master) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and resources in a fast-paced IT environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • A Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, software development, cloud computing, and cybersecurity principles is a plus.
