About the position

The IT Project Manager will oversee the modernization of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role involves managing technical requirements, ensuring effective communication between teams, and leading the development of acquisition strategies to support program objectives. The incumbent will utilize their expertise in IT project management to enhance processes, manage resources, and ensure fiscal accountability while contributing to the delivery of safe and efficient healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Manage the technical requirements for the EHR Modernization project.
• Lead and manage the development of acquisition strategies and contract awards.
• Enhance processes and decision-making to execute the operating budget.
• Prepare budget requests with justifications and manage resources effectively.
• Ensure appropriate programming, budgeting, and fiscal accountability.
• Facilitate communication between technical teams at the VA Central Office and local sites.
• Apply sound business, finance, and accounting principles to improve program management performance.

Requirements

• 1 year of IT project management experience at a senior level.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage in a multi-stakeholder environment.
• Experience managing a cross-functional team.
• Knowledge of IT-related experience demonstrating competencies in attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving.
