About the position

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Lead to manage and lead data center operations and migration projects to cloud services. This remote position requires expertise in AWS migrations, Agile project management, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will be skilled in managing large-scale IT projects, handling budgets, and effectively communicating with stakeholders to drive results.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale IT projects to successful completion, ensuring timely delivery, within scope and budget.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Lead Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Develop and manage product backlogs and ensure timely delivery of project features.
• Oversee IT procurements, budgets, and forecasts to allocate resources effectively.
• Communicate with vendors and service providers to ensure project requirements are met.
• Track project progress and ensure milestones are achieved on time, addressing blockers or risks as they arise.
• Manage data center migration projects from on-premise systems to AWS cloud services.
• Provide regular project status updates and report any issues to leadership.
• Ensure Agile principles are followed throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience managing IT projects, particularly in data center environments.
• 6+ years of experience with Agile project management and knowledge of enterprise data flows.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite, including MS Project.
• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) for effective collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to define and manage project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Proven experience in managing budgets, forecasts, and procurements for IT projects.
• Experience leading cloud migrations, specifically transitioning data centers to AWS.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in government fiscal and budget management.
• Familiarity with tools like Remedy, ITSM, PPM, Archer, Jira, and ServiceNow.
• Experience preparing and tracking security exemption requests.
