About the position

Genesis10 is seeking an IT Project Manager for a 12+ month contract position in the financial industry, located in Plano, TX. The role involves overseeing project management for infrastructure service solutions, collaborating with various teams to deliver environments, and managing project risks and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Project management oversight for infrastructure service solutions including network, midrange server, storage, capacity planning, and monitoring.
• Work with Environments Management, Release Management, Performance Testing, Capacity Management, and other teams to deliver Pre-Prod and Production environments.
• Perform capital forecasting, planning and procurement for infrastructure products and services.
• Provide technology estimates for resources and capital supporting client initiatives.
• Management of WBS, Milestones, status reporting, risks/issue management and mitigation.
• Coordinate with design teams, build teams, application teams, Network Services for new technology solutions.
• Demonstrate an understanding of customer's tactical goals and effectively participate in the development and implementation of business solutions.
• Manage project risk through comprehensive mitigation assessment and planning techniques.
• Actively manage the work efforts of multiple functional resources through the project plan.
• Establish basic scope control procedures.
• Develop documentation and monitor project status.
• Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of documentation.
• Initiate and maintain reporting relationships with project stakeholders including team members, peers, managers, customers, vendors, and other affected departments.
• Gather input and feedback, analyze and report project status and research information.
• Monitor project performance to maintain the quality of services, deliverables, and content.
• Assist in directing both internal and external resources to achieve business solutions within project guidelines.
• Respond to operational issues and RFI's while progressing on project work.
• Collaborate and communicate with other project managers and leaders to coordinate cross-project initiatives and activities.
• Identify and eliminate obstacles to solution plans, business goals or implementation.
• Assist in the development and implementation of contingency plans.
• Assist in the development of project budgets in compliance with the company's financial practices.

Requirements

• 4-year degree
• 5+ years' experience in project management
