About the position

The IT Project Manager at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is responsible for overseeing technology-related projects from inception to completion. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget while meeting specified requirements and quality standards. The IT Project Manager will coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, manage resources, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, serving as the primary point of contact between stakeholders, technical teams, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical and analytical guidance for information technology (IT) projects.
• Manages vendor workflow and deliverables for multi-unit projects and facilitates project status communication to clients.
• Serves as a main point of contact for clients in the development and implementation of moderately complex projects.
• Provides moderately advanced technical and analytical guidance to project teams.
• Identifies and estimates tasks and applies established project management methodologies to identify obstacles and drive project completion.
• Schedules and facilitates communication for the integration of vendor workflow and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables for projects.
• Drafts and delivers project status communications and reports.

Requirements

• Proven experience in project management, particularly in IT-related projects.
• Strong analytical and technical skills to guide project teams effectively.
• Excellent communication skills to serve as a liaison between stakeholders and technical teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
