About the position

The IT Project Manager at Rutgers University-Newark is responsible for planning, coordinating, and tracking Information Technology project initiatives. This role serves as a primary liaison between clients and technical teams, ensuring that technology solutions align with client needs. The IT Project Manager will oversee project delivery for various infrastructure, system, and application initiatives while managing budgets and applying best practices in project management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cohesiveness between Rutgers-Newark Technology and Learning Spaces (TLS), Rutgers-Newark IT (RUN-IT), and other campus stakeholders in technical solution design and implementation.
• Serve as the primary client liaison, bridging client needs with technical solutions.
• Manage financial and budget aspects of projects.
• Apply best practices in project management and technical implementation to deliver cost-effective solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in information technology, technical project management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management and IT solution implementation.
• Experiential knowledge in IT project management methods and procedures.
• Experiential knowledge in information technologies, infrastructures, systems, and applications.

Nice-to-haves

• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Lean six sigma training or certifications
• Experience working in a higher education environment.
