About the position

The IT Project Manager role at Booz Allen involves leading and managing IT projects within a dynamic work environment. The position requires translating larger program goals into detailed project plans, engaging with clients to understand their IT requirements, and ensuring effective task management to meet quality standards. The project manager will also be responsible for communication with executive leadership and will play a key role in organizational development and team success.

Responsibilities

  • Translate larger program goals into well-designed project plans.
  • Assist clients in developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Manage tasks effectively to ensure program goals are achieved.
  • Engage with clients to collect, understand, and define their IT requirements.
  • Analyze and translate IT requirements into project plans and milestones.
  • Create realistic resource-loaded schedules to manage and report progress.
  • Write and deliver executive leadership level communications and briefings.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with supporting, planning, scheduling, coordinating, or delivering IT projects.
  • 1+ years of experience with DoD IT Project Management.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies or software project management tools, including ServiceNow, Jira, or Confluence.
  • Knowledge of project and program management practices in a Navy or USMC setting.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and help lead a team.
  • Ability to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve risks and conflicts across workstreams.
  • Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the development and writing of Performance Work Statements (PWS) or Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Experience supporting the review of vendor proposals within identified service areas.
  • Knowledge of vendor management to ensure alignment of vendors, contracts, and Service Level Agreements.
  • SAFe Program Consultant Certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • ITIL foundations Certification.
