About the position

The IT Project Manager at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of IT projects related to security infrastructure. This role is crucial in supporting the CDC's mission by ensuring the effective use of critical security systems and data resources. The position requires a strong foundation in computer science and the ability to lead complex projects that align with public health objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall planning, coordination, and direction in the establishment and accomplishment of project goals.
  • Accomplish special tasks, studies, and requirements in support of CDC's mission.
  • Apply the foundations of computer science and computer system architecture to complex and critical systems.
  • Lead the review and disposition of IT requests for use of critical security systems data and systems resources.

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level.
  • Experience in planning and coordinating information technology systems related to security infrastructure goals.
  • Experience providing assistance and recommendations on data processing and support for secure physical access to buildings, labs, and offices.
  • Experience formulating and executing projects in accordance with physical and personnel security standards.
  • Demonstrated competencies in Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
