About the position

The Project Manager position at CONMED involves assisting business and IT leaders in defining, scoping, prioritizing, approving, executing, and closing IT-related projects. The role includes maintaining the IT Project Playbook, providing training and coaching, analyzing project data, and facilitating meetings. The Project Manager will also oversee strategic programs as directed by the PMO Director, ensuring effective project execution and governance.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance and document CONMED's End-to-End project execution process (IT Project Playbook).
  • Oversee the execution of assigned portfolio to ensure well-defined projects with proactive risk management.
  • Support adoption of the Playbook by facilitating, coaching, and training process participants.
  • Define and propose new projects.
  • Conduct portfolio planning, prioritization, and new project launch approval.
  • Provide execution oversight and governance of in-flight projects.
  • Perform project closeout activities, including value realization and lessons learned.
  • Collect and analyze data to support portfolio status tracking and oversight by governance bodies.
  • Conduct periodic assessments of the project execution process and recommend improvements.
  • Support IT Leadership Team (ITLT) operations by preparing agendas and capturing action items.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in computer science, engineering, medical technology, or related field.
  • 4-6 years' experience in IT project management, program management, or portfolio management roles.
  • Hands-on experience with portfolio and project management applications such as MS Project, Jira, Planview.
  • 2-4 years' experience in Agile project methodologies.
  • Basic familiarity with business functions in a medical device company (R&D, Regulatory, Marketing, etc.).
  • Understanding of Computer Systems Validation (CSV).
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Ability to create PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to analyze costs, risks, timelines, and metrics using Excel.
  • Ability to coach and train others in small group settings.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, medical technology, or related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
