About the position

The IT Project Manager, Sr. is responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing IT projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. This role involves coordinating resources, managing team efforts, and delivering quality outcomes for larger and more complex projects compared to non-senior project managers. The position requires a seasoned professional capable of independently managing assignments and collaborating with senior management and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects involving network, server, or software implementation and upgrades, and PC deployment.
  • Coordinate work done by IT staff and internal customers by defining project requirements and performing feasibility assessments.
  • Develop detailed project plans and manage implementation processes including resource allocation and progress tracking.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis and manage project expectations.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables, and determine the frequency and content of status reports.
  • Conduct project postmortems and create recommendations reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or business (equivalent professional experience may be considered).
  • 5 years of specific professional experience such as team or project lead.
  • Extensive knowledge of project management concepts, processes, and tools.
  • Well-developed technical skills within project management.
  • Ability to assess IT systems and identify underlying causes for failures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or business (equivalent professional experience may be considered).
  • 5-8 years of experience in project management.
