About the position

The Senior IT Project Manager at Western Union is responsible for leading complex networking and IT infrastructure projects that connect millions of customers globally. This role involves managing all phases of project delivery, including planning, execution, and stakeholder communication, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of a project, from Analysis & Design through Deployment.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and project estimates.
  • Prepare and publish project status reports and executive level presentations.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Review project deliverables to ensure completeness and proper approvals.
  • Manage accruals and capital expenditures for IT investment projects.
  • Prepare project portfolio resource planning reports to identify critical resource demands.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain the detailed project plan and task assignments.
  • Proactively manage risks and issues, establishing contingency and risk mitigation plans.
  • Document and manage project change requests, identifying impacts to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Adhere to established support and service management policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations with team members and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science or a related field preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required.
  • 5+ years of networking and/or IT infrastructure experience including requirements management, analysis and design required.
  • 5+ years of project management experience related to business software or system integration projects required.
  • Proficient in Excel, Access, and other Microsoft technologies (Word, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Demonstrated record of leadership, management, and technical success in Information Technology required.
  • Experience working in a business/IT capacity for a company with financial industry knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong familiarity with project management and vendor management tools and techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to non-technical and technical clients.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with TFS, JIRA, and MS CRM preferred.
  • Experience working with outside vendors and other business partners.
