About the position

As a Project/Task Manager at GDIT, you will oversee and coordinate projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all project milestones and goals are met on time and within budget. This role requires excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills to manage a team and deliver successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and ensure the successful completion of all tasks in assigned projects.
  • Supervise at least 15 employees.
  • Plan and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless project execution.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to monitor and track progress.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Meet with clients to clarify specific project requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Top Secret/SCI security clearance required.
  • Proven working experience as a Project Manager or equivalent role.
  • Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Solid technical background with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Service Now).
  • Proven experience in leading teams in a fast-paced environment.
