About the position

Scout Motors is on a mission to revive one of the most iconic American vehicles, transforming it into a modern electric vehicle that respects both the past and the future. As an IT Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in this transformation by planning and executing technology projects that will revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck and rugged SUV marketplace. You will utilize Agile principles and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban, to foster collaboration and ensure efficient delivery of projects. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with stakeholders to define project scope and objectives, leading a diverse project team, and maintaining open communication with all parties involved. You will also be responsible for monitoring project progress, identifying risks, and implementing measures to ensure timely completion of milestones while adhering to budgets. Quality assurance will be a key focus, as you will implement measures to deliver high-quality outcomes that meet industry standards. Additionally, you will maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide regular progress reports to senior management, emphasizing continuous improvement and learning within the project team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute technology projects using Agile principles and frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define clear project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Lead a diverse project team, providing clear direction, support, and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment to maximize productivity and creativity.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement proactive measures to address challenges.
  • Maintain open and transparent communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding project progress and changes in requirements.
  • Implement robust quality assurance measures to deliver high-quality project outcomes that meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Provide regular progress reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and upcoming milestones.
  • Emphasize continuous improvement and learning within the project team by facilitating retrospectives and sharing best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree is considered a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in IT project management, preferably within the automotive industry.
  • Demonstrated success as an IT Project Manager, with a track record of delivering technology projects on time and within budget.
  • In-depth understanding of project management principles and best practices, and the ability to apply them effectively in an automotive IT context.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, enabling seamless coordination with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with various project management tools and methodologies, and the ability to adapt them to suit the unique requirements of automotive IT projects.
  • Automotive industry experience is a strong advantage.
