About the position

The IT Project Manager will lead cross-functional project teams in a hybrid work environment, focusing on managing project timelines, milestones, and dependencies. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project delivery aligns with business strategies while adhering to the SDLC methodology. The Project Manager will be responsible for developing detailed project plans, monitoring budgets, and managing risks to deliver quality solutions on time and within scope.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional project teams and manage project timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with project sponsors to ensure alignment with business strategy.
  • Manage stakeholder and vendor relationships to ensure project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with SDLC methodology for documentation and implementation.
  • Define and manage detailed project plans using MS Project.
  • Monitor and report on all project tasks and deliverables, managing the resource plan and budget.
  • Communicate ongoing project status to various audiences to drive awareness and engagement.
  • Accountable to business sponsors for delivering quality solutions tied to business problems.
  • Manage project risks and issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Lead the team through issue resolution to avoid schedule impacts.
  • Negotiate priorities and solutions effectively.
  • Work independently on complex projects with multi-platform deliveries.

Requirements

  • PMP certification or similar; fluent with PMBOK methodology required.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies; CSM preferred but not required.
  • Strong background in project management tools, specifically MS Office Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the financial services/insurance industry required.
  • 4+ years of IT experience managing large-sized IT programs or portfolios.
  • 2+ years of vendor management and contract negotiations experience required.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing program/portfolio budgets.
