About the position

The IT Project Manager will serve as the primary liaison between the Research IT (RIT) team and Pathology researchers at Johns Hopkins University. This role involves understanding the unique needs of researchers, coordinating RIT services, and developing tailored solutions to support their projects. The position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Pathology researchers regarding RIT services.
  • Bridge the gap between researchers' needs and available RIT solutions.
  • Coordinate and develop solutions for Pathology researchers and their vendors on a case-by-case basis.
  • Meet with researchers to assess their compute, storage, and vendor connectivity needs.
  • Complete and finalize discovery on an instrument inventory list.
  • Engage with IT Risk and navigate the Software Intake Process (SIP) for software needs and requests.
  • Facilitate access to core RIT services and provide understanding of these services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Five years of IT experience, including project management experience.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting demands effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in delivering presentations to senior IT and institutional leadership.
  • Knowledge of the Ubuntu (Linux) operating system.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Competitive salary range of $99,800 - $175,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
