About the position

The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning and implementing complex IT projects that support multiple businesses within the organization. This role focuses on delivering timely, quality IT services and improving business effectiveness and efficiency. The IT Project Manager will manage project budgets, scope, and schedules while ensuring effective communication with stakeholders regarding project progress and potential issues.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement complex IT projects supporting multiple businesses.
  • Provide input into the creation of project budgets and manage project scope and schedule.
  • Manage stakeholders and communicate project progress and potential issues.
  • Ensure Health & Safety is prioritized by following policies and acting safely.
  • Assume responsibility for the company's systems and network infrastructure projects.
  • Partner with project sponsors to define project objectives, scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Establish project charters and plans, including success criteria.
  • Lead and direct project teams to meet project objectives.
  • Identify and negotiate schedules, milestones, and resources required for projects.
  • Interact with employees at all levels to understand IT-related problems and provide solutions.
  • Recommend new technologies and systems for organizational improvement.
  • Work with IT employees, consultants, and programmers as necessary.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to project team members.
  • Coordinate systems testing, installation, training, and support with client departments and stakeholders.
  • Report and communicate effectively to the Director of Strategic Technology regarding project aspects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • Minimum seven (7) years' experience in IT Technical support required.
  • Five (5) years of project management experience required.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Experience with VOIP deployment strongly desired.
  • Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience identifying and resolving issues independently.
  • Demonstrates accountability and sound personal judgment.
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to gain alignment with different clients and represent a common point of view across multiple stakeholders.
  • Courage to take initiative in unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances.
  • High level of self-awareness and desire to develop leadership capabilities.
