The National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) is seeking an organized and detail-oriented IT Project Manager to oversee software projects from inception to completion. This role involves collaborating with both internal and external clients to gather and document project requirements, as well as working closely with management to allocate resources effectively. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for motivating software developers and team members, delivering customer presentations, and writing project proposals. Success in this position requires a solid understanding of project estimation techniques, modern software development life cycle (SDLC) methods, and project management tools. Excellent communication and decision-making skills are essential for this role. In this position, the IT Project Manager will discuss potential projects and their parameters with clients, executives, and software developers/QA teams. They will plan the blueprints for software projects, defining project scope, allocating resources, setting deadlines, and establishing communication strategies. The IT Project Manager will ensure that projects remain on schedule and adhere to deadlines, while also overseeing consistent testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of all products throughout their development stages. Regular meetings will be held to track milestones, deliverables, and any change requests, serving as a liaison to communicate important information regarding project progress. The role also includes delivering completed software products to clients and performing regular checks on product performance. The IT Project Manager will be expected to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the organization and its mission to improve the lives of those affected by rare diseases.
