About the position

The IT Project Manager at NetApp is a strategic role focused on managing technology infrastructure-related initiatives using both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. This position requires a proactive approach to project management, where the individual will orchestrate project outcomes, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure successful delivery of projects in both on-premise and cloud environments. The role emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous improvement, making it essential for the candidate to have a strong background in infrastructure project management and Agile practices.

Responsibilities

  • Translate functional requirements into the appropriate delivery methodology (waterfall vs Agile) and break the work into milestones and execution plans.
  • Produce and manage Gantt charts for waterfall projects.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, iteration planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives for Agile projects.
  • Manage infrastructure development planning and execution, with significant use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Guide the team in time estimation practices and facilitate work estimates.
  • Drive team iteration execution and communicate with management and stakeholders.
  • Manage project conflicts, challenges, and dynamic business requirements to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Conduct postmortem and root cause analysis to improve execution practices.
  • Define and implement improvement stories to increase program velocity and quality.
  • Maintain program and project data in project management software (e.g., JIRA, MS Project) to support estimates and execution.
  • Present high-level project readouts for management.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of infrastructure project management experience and 2 years leading sprints.
  • Demonstrable expertise in Agile methodologies and frameworks like Scrum and Kanban.
  • Deep understanding of iterative and incremental development.
  • Strong knowledge of waterfall project management methodologies and tools.
  • Solid experience working with Architecture and engineering teams to assess and size story/epics.
  • Excellent communication skills in all verbal and written mediums.
  • Self-motivated with high natural energy.
