About the position

The IT Project Manager at Simtra BioPharma Solutions plays a crucial role in supporting corporate, manufacturing, and IT projects on a global scale. This position is responsible for managing multiple projects, ensuring that all milestones are met according to project specifications while balancing cost, resources, and time commitments. The Project Manager will utilize project management tools and guidelines to set expectations and maintain effective communication with team members, ultimately ensuring the achievement of project objectives by mitigating risks and solving problems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional project staff and demonstrate ownership of key activities.
  • Accountable for budget planning and performance, supplier contracts, key activities, deliverables, scope definition, requirements, and project milestones.
  • Develop project, staffing, and communications plans.
  • Manage risks, issues, and dependencies, and escalate to the leadership team as necessary.
  • Conduct standard and regular status reporting activities and ensure clear documentation of actions from team meetings.
  • Facilitate presentations and meetings, ensuring effective communication at all organizational levels.
  • Anticipate project challenges and risk scenarios, preparing and executing proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate scope change control when changes are proposed and approved.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and ensure resources take ownership to drive results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of IT project management experience, preferably within a corporate Project Management Office (PMO) in the Life Sciences industries.
  • Project Management designations such as PMI or SCRUM Master preferred.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and knowledge of related disciplines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative initiatives and promote a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to use enterprise software tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Familiarity with one or more Project Management disciplines (Waterfall, Agile).
  • Strong preference for candidates to be local to Parsippany, NJ.
