About the position

T-Rex Solutions is seeking a qualified IT Project Manager to support the Hill Component Enterprise Data Center IT Operations and Maintenance Services program located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah (HAFB). This program aims to modernize legacy USAF network infrastructure and migrate services into a new AWS Cloud Environment. The IT Project Manager will play a crucial role in managing the planning, execution, and closing of IT projects related to onboarding new systems and sustaining existing ones. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented IT professional with a passion for project management, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables. In addition to project management responsibilities, the IT Project Manager will assist in the onboarding of new technologies and systems, ensuring a smooth integration into the existing IT infrastructure. This includes working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and facilitate effective communication throughout the onboarding process. The role also involves contributing to the ongoing sustainment of IT systems by coordinating maintenance activities, upgrades, and troubleshooting efforts, while implementing best practices for system reliability and performance optimization. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for fostering positive working relationships with IT teams, end-users, and other stakeholders, and will communicate project status, risks, and issues to leadership and stakeholders regularly. Risk management is a key aspect of this role, requiring the identification and assessment of risks associated with projects and the development of mitigation strategies. Additionally, the IT Project Manager will maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, timelines, and status reports, ensuring that all project-related documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning, execution, and closing of IT projects related to onboarding new systems and sustaining existing ones.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

  • Contribute to the ongoing sustainment of IT systems by coordinating maintenance activities, upgrades, and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Implement best practices for system reliability and performance optimization.
  • Foster positive working relationships with IT teams, end-users, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to leadership and stakeholders regularly.
  • Identify and assess risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively address challenges to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, timelines, and status reports.
  • Ensure that all project-related documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or IT related field with two (2) or more years of related professional experience. A Master's Degree and 0+ years of experience or a PhD and 0+ years of experience may be substituted.
  • Must possess an Interim or Active Secret Clearance.
  • Familiarity with IT systems, infrastructure, and industry best practices.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
