About the position

The IT Project Manager at the University of Utah will oversee the planning and execution of various IT projects within the Clinical Research Enterprise Data Coordinating Center. This role involves collaborating with a diverse team to implement new technologies and initiatives, ensuring that project plans align with design and requirements. The position offers opportunities for hybrid telework and requires the candidate to be local or willing to relocate to Salt Lake City.

Responsibilities

  • Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of projects.
  • Think creatively about solutions to technical and non-technical problems.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Facilitate effective meetings that produce clear action and consensus.
  • Ensure that project plan is consistent with project design and requirements.
  • Build trusting relationships within and beyond the IT Team to achieve the goals and contribute to the success of the Utah DCC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
  • 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Demonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Master's degree in a related area may be preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Project Lifecycle Methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience with JIRA, MS Project, Tableau Reporting.
  • Background in project management and strategic planning skills.
