The IT Project and Program Manager at LTIMindtree is responsible for managing all aspects of IT projects, typically involving multiple disciplines within the IT function. This role requires a deep understanding of project management principles and practices, particularly in the context of the US electricity utilities sector. The manager will utilize their expertise and leadership skills to direct project teams, resolve issues, and ensure that project goals and requirements are met effectively. The position may involve employing Agile techniques and project management practices to enhance project delivery and outcomes. In this role, the IT Project Manager will define, document, and execute small projects or subprojects, typically lasting less than six months, with limited budgets and interdependencies. They will identify, assess, and manage risks to project success, collaborating with stakeholders to prepare realistic plans that include quality, risk, and communication strategies. The manager will monitor costs, timescales, and resources, taking corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track. Additionally, they will ensure that projects are formally closed and reviewed, capturing lessons learned for future reference. The IT Project Manager will also take responsibility for providing support services to projects, utilizing project control solutions for planning, scheduling, and tracking. They will set up and guide the use of project management software and tools, supporting program or project control boards and quality review meetings. Financial management is a key aspect of this role, as the manager will monitor and maintain financial records for compliance and assist in financial planning and budgeting. Moreover, the IT Project Manager will analyze business processes, identify alternative solutions, and recommend new approaches to improve efficiency and effectiveness. They will contribute to the evaluation of factors that need to be addressed in change programs and help establish requirements for implementing changes in business processes. This position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and significant experience in IT project management, particularly within the utilities sector.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and manage risks to the success of the project.
  • Agree on project approach with stakeholders and prepare realistic plans including quality, risk, and communications plans.
  • Monitor costs, timescales, and resources used, taking action where deviations occur.
  • Ensure projects are formally closed and lessons learned are recorded.
  • Provide support services to projects and recommend project control solutions.
  • Set up and provide guidance on project management software and tools.
  • Monitor and maintain financial records for compliance and audit requirements.
  • Analyze business processes and recommend new approaches for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, management, or related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Three or more years in a project management role.
  • Experience in managing at least 3 end-to-end US Electric Utilities projects.
  • Experience in an Agile Scrum software development environment is highly desired.
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI ACP) certification is preferred.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification is preferred.
  • Utility domain experience is an advantage.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with customer information systems, meter data management, IT grid applications, and power operations.
  • Familiarity with ETRM and web portals.
