About the position

The IT Project Manager will play a crucial role in the Division of Information Technology at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, focusing on the planning, execution, and monitoring of technology initiatives specifically for the Division of Mental Hygiene. This position aims to support key projects such as the Referral Management System and the Case Management System, ensuring successful implementation of IT solutions that enhance the division's operations and public health initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the IT Portfolio processes including IT planning, portfolio governance, project methodology framework, and resource capacity management.
  • Drive improvements and ensure industry best practices are leveraged.
  • Make recommendations to management regarding long-term contractors and/or additions to staff.
  • Analyze project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations and appropriate process for accomplishing projects.
  • Implement project communications including project steering committee meetings and status reports.
  • Manage project risks and issues and implement mitigation plans.
  • Ensure that project goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project delivers on schedule and within budget.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester credits in relevant fields such as cyber security, network security, computer science, etc.
  • A four-year high school diploma or equivalent and three years of satisfactory experience in relevant areas.
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to the above qualifications.
