About the position

The IT Program Manager at emerjence LLC is responsible for leading program initiatives at the IRS, coordinating with stakeholders, managing budgets, and ensuring that project outcomes align with the organization's strategic goals. This role requires strong communication and analytical skills, as well as the ability to navigate challenges associated with large-scale programs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage cross-functional program and project teams, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and delivering optimal return on investment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with project sponsors, stakeholders, and external vendors, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration throughout project lifecycles.
  • Apply change management principles to guide teams through transitions, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and initiatives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables, required resources, work plans, budgets, and timelines for new initiatives.
  • Develop and oversee project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial goals and accountability for meeting business objectives.
  • Identify, analyze, and manage program risks, developing strategies to mitigate potential issues and maintain project progress.
  • Implement processes for evaluating program performance and reporting outcomes to managers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other program managers to identify opportunities, manage risks, and share best practices across multiple projects within the department.

Requirements

  • At least five years in an upper-management role, with a focus on program management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage time effectively, and facilitate project execution.
  • Proven experience in managing stakeholder relationships and ensuring their needs are met throughout project lifecycles.
  • Strong skills in evaluating risks and opportunities, coupled with the ability to produce comprehensive program reports.
  • Exceptional ability to manage complex projects with multiple moving parts, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Deep understanding of change management principles, ensuring smooth transitions during organizational changes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities to present project updates and findings to senior management.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is preferred.
  • Experience in managing large-scale initiatives in a related industry is an advantage.
