About the position

Kforce has a client in Brighton, CO that is seeking an IT Project Manager for a contract role. The duration of this contract will be 6 months. Under the direction of the IT Manager, and working collaboratively with the IT Governance Committee, the IT Project Manager plans and leads enterprise technology projects and initiatives. This role involves providing high-level oversight and communication of the overall IT project plan, in partnership with other IT Unit managers. The IT Project Manager is also responsible for direct project management of portfolios, ensuring that all aspects of specific projects, both new and in process, are planned, budgeted, overseen, and documented effectively. The Project Manager will work closely with upper management to ensure that the scope and direction of each project are on schedule, while also communicating with other departments for support. The responsibilities include leading and coordinating a variety of IT projects, including infrastructure and application projects, from initiation to deployment. The Project Manager serves as the point of contact for the project team's communications, creates detailed work plans, and determines the resources required to complete the projects. They will drive project plans based on established goals, timelines, and financial budgets, ensuring that project roles and responsibilities are clearly defined. Additionally, the Project Manager prepares time, scope, and resource analysis for the steering committee to aid in prioritization and decision-making. They review the project schedule with the steering committee and all other staff affected by the project, coordinate the change management process, monitor problems, and follow up with assigned personnel to ensure timely resolution of issues. Documenting all project information appropriately and assisting in the development and implementation of quality improvement programs are also key aspects of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead enterprise technology projects and initiatives under the direction of the IT Manager.
  • Provide high-level oversight and communication of the overall IT project plan in partnership with other IT Unit managers.
  • Oversee the IT Unit project planning methodology and manage direct project portfolios.
  • Plan, budget, oversee, and document all aspects of specific projects, both new and in process.
  • Work closely with upper management to ensure project scope and direction are on schedule.
  • Communicate with other departments for support on projects.
  • Lead and coordinate a variety of IT projects from initiation to deployment.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the project team's communications.
  • Create detailed work plans and determine required resources to complete projects.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes to maximize efficiencies and improve quality.
  • Ability to coordinate competing projects in a fast-paced and changing technical environment.
  • Strong internal and external customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work within expected guidelines with limited supervision and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish, maintain, and foster positive working relationships with those contacted in the scope of work.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus (Agile).
