About the position

The IT Project Manager at NIST will oversee projects within the Business Operations Office, providing technical leadership and ensuring successful project execution. This role involves defining operating procedures, gathering customer requirements, developing project plans, and delivering recommendations for policy updates. The position is crucial for supporting mission-oriented business functions and applications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Project Manager for projects across the Business Operations Office service portfolio.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight of projects.
• Define operating procedures and develop customer requirements.
• Develop reports and project plans, and create and execute test plans.
• Deliver recommendations for updates or new policies and processes.
• Provide analysis and recommendations in support of mission-oriented business functions, applications, and systems.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 federal grade level.
• Experience in developing project scope, evaluating feasibility, and creating project artifacts such as business requirement documents and project plans.
• Certification or training in Project Management Professional (PMP) methodologies.
