About the position

The Project Manager at ACP CreativIT plays a crucial role in managing resources to ensure the successful completion of IT projects. This position involves establishing timelines and milestones in collaboration with various stakeholders, including owners, vendors, and internal resources. The Project Manager is responsible for scheduling necessary internal resources and ensuring site readiness while facilitating clear and timely communication among all parties involved. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of project requirements, including contractual, financial, technical, and construction coordination aspects. In this position, the Project Manager will coordinate all personnel and activities on the project site, acting as the focal point for both internal and external project communication and documentation. Utilizing project management software, the Project Manager will track installation timelines for all project phases and ensure that all contract documents, such as bid drawings, specifications, and subcontractor scopes of work, are thoroughly understood and adhered to. The Project Manager will facilitate internal communication and meetings with key participants from various departments, including sales, purchasing, engineering, programming, and installation. Additionally, the Project Manager will oversee in-house activities related to project execution, including submittals, engineering, fabrication, installation, programming, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting. They will work closely with Practice Managers to create and manage project schedules and coordinate with the Professional Services Manager to assign and schedule personnel for installations. Regular communication regarding job progress will be provided to all stakeholders, and the Project Manager will assist in ordering materials and managing labor expenditures throughout the project lifecycle. This role also involves soliciting quotes from subcontractors, generating construction communication, managing change orders, and ensuring the successful turnover of projects to the service department upon completion.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all personnel and activities on project site.
  • Function as the focal point for internal and external project communication and documentation.
  • Utilize available PM software to track installation timelines for all phases of the project.
  • Obtain and read all contract documents including bid drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Acquire a thorough understanding of project requirements and objectives.
  • Facilitate internal project communication and meetings with key internal participants.
  • Coordinate all in-house activities associated with project execution.
  • Work with Practice Managers to create and manage the project schedule.
  • Coordinate with Professional Services Manager to assign/schedule personnel for installation.
  • Provide consistent communication of job progress to all stakeholders.
  • Assist with ordering materials upon approval of submittal documents.
  • Manage and monitor labor expenditures of engineering, fabrication, and installation personnel.
  • Solicit quotes from qualified subcontractors as required.
  • Generate and respond to construction communication including requests for information and change order documents.
  • Proactively manage the change order process.
  • Regularly inspect installation work performed by staff and/or subcontractors.
  • Coordinate training for clients.
  • Coordinate turnover of project to service department at the end of each project.
  • Maintain Daily Activity Log and submit hours in Connectwise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
  • 2 years of related experience in IT project management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and .pdf viewing and markup tools.
  • Ability to supervise and manage tasks and personnel to meet project objectives.
  • Fundamental understanding of IT system functionality and installation processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical and project-related issues.
  • Effective time management and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • CAPM or PMP certification preferred.
  • 1-3 years of IT industry experience preferred.
