About the position

The IT Project Manager in the Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for managing various IT projects across multiple business units, including Electric Service Delivery, Finance, IT, and Customer Care. This role involves overseeing project resources, budgets, and vendor relationships, ensuring successful project delivery from initiation to closure.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project from beginning to end, including submitting proposals and recommending budget, scope, and schedule changes.
  • Develop project scope, project charter, cost estimates, human resource requirements, RACI, work plans, time schedules, and communication plans.
  • Assist in writing Request for Information/Request for Proposals for external services and business plans for internal executive approval.
  • Develop project plans and associated communications documents; identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Track and report on project milestones and deliverables.
  • Develop written business requirements and models.
  • Request resources and participants needed to achieve project goals from other department managers.
  • Own the business relationship with subject matter experts and their leadership throughout the project life cycle.
  • Direct tasks/work for a project team comprised of subject matter experts from Utility IT, Business, and external vendors.
  • Define project success criteria and communicate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to sponsors, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Publish weekly status reports and monthly presentations to stakeholders on project progress.
  • Develop successful transition, training plans, and recognition for project team resources.
  • Assist in developing a forecast/project timeline and project plan for achieving strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Business, Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Management Information Systems.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMI.
  • 5 years of demonstrated experience in implementing large-scale IT/OT enterprise application/Cloud Solution projects.
  • 5 years of experience in systems integration projects.
  • 5 years of demonstrated application of project management techniques and coordination of people and resources.
  • 5 years of proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project Online (PWA), PowerBI, MS Teams, and Visio.
  • 5 years of proficiency in change management methodologies.
  • 5 years of experience in presenting to multiple levels within the organization.
  • 5 years of experience in vendor and contract management.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3 years of experience leading projects related to utility design, Customer Care, Customer Account Management, and Finance.
  • 3 years of experience in developing and managing remote teams.
  • 3 years of familiarity with utility business practices and relevant business needs.
  • 3 years of familiarity with Software/Firmware Release Management.
  • 3 years of familiarity in working with a government entity.
