About the position

The IT Project Manager is responsible for leading enterprise-wide strategic initiatives across various functions, focusing on launching new products, application development, systems integration, and operational improvements. This role requires expertise in both traditional project management and scaled agile methodologies, as the organization transitions to a more agile framework.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering multiple strategic initiatives including business, operational, and information technology deliverables
  • Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit
  • Directs large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents and partners
  • Directly manages all aspects of the project life cycle and oversees all phases of a project
  • Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters
  • Validates financial forecasts and cost assumptions and provides ongoing reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures
  • Works with resource managers to ensure that resource capacity planning is accurately forecasted
  • Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan
  • Handles risks and issues management for the project-level risks and interdependencies
  • Partners with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to track Agile development milestones and support Agile practices as needed
  • Manages team relationships to ensure effective delivery
  • Facilitates problem-solving and resolves stakeholder conflict
  • Teaches, coaches, and mentors team members to remove roadblocks and drive project execution

Requirements

  • 8+ years of project management experience, managing multiple large, complex, and cross functional projects with emphasis on systems and technical environments
  • 8+ years of experience with project management tools and artifacts, including MS Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, project budgets, change requests, status reports, etc.
  • Experience managing a concurrent portfolio of work greater than $3M
  • Experience preparing/presenting information for and engaging with officer-level audiences
  • Proven experience to execute with limited information and ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to mobilize and motivate teams, set direction and approach, resolve conflict, deliver tough messages with grace
  • Proven experience with various software development methodologies including Agile/Scrum
  • Proven ability to build relationships quickly and earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders, being seen as a strategic partner
  • Deep experience working with product development and technology partners
  • Proven track record of applying an elevated level of detail to project management and communications
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience

Nice-to-haves

  • Scaled agile methodology experience, strongly preferred
  • Contact center technology experience (phone/IVR, chat, SMS)
  • Background/experience in financial services industry
  • PMP or PMI-ACP certification
