About the position

The IT Project Manager position at the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) involves overseeing the implementation of IT-related services and solutions within the Office of Information Technology (OIT). The role is crucial for aligning team efforts with the Commission's strategic goals, ensuring effective communication among stakeholders, and delivering impactful solutions on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will be proactive in identifying potential issues and optimizing business processes to enhance productivity.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential products and conduct product research.
• Generate and prioritize product requirements and determine product specifications.
• Plan and oversee the implementation process of major segments of the productivity improvement program.
• Perform needs analysis to identify opportunities for new and improved business process solutions.
• Present briefings to senior IT staff regarding routine IT issues.
• Provide consultation and guidance to OIT leadership on policy and planning.
• Negotiate effectively with management to implement recommendations involving substantial OIT resources.

Requirements

• Must have IT-related experience demonstrating attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving skills.
• One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, applying Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and/or lean principles.
• Experience providing technical and operational program guidance to agency and senior leadership.

Nice-to-haves
