About the position

The Senior Project Manager role in the IT PMO at Beacon Hill Staffing Group is a pivotal position responsible for the assessment and successful implementation of large-scale IT and Business Change projects. The primary focus of this role is to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to the defined scope. A strong delivery focus is essential, as the Senior Project Manager will be tasked with establishing the appropriate structures, governance, roles, and communication channels necessary for effective project management. In this role, the Senior Project Manager will develop and update project plans, budgets, and resource plans to facilitate project execution and support business case submissions. This includes performing assessments and due diligence on business cases, which may involve vendor contracts, ensuring that these documents have been reviewed by other Project Managers or PMO leadership. The Senior Project Manager will also be responsible for managing and proactively reporting on various project elements, including plans, budgets, scope, resources, project decisions, risks, issues, and dependencies. Maintaining and presenting project metrics to senior management is a key responsibility. The position requires managing relationships and overall engagement with implementation partners, vendors, and all stakeholders involved in the projects. The Senior Project Manager will provide insights on the overall business value of projects, leveraging their experience to help the team achieve stated objectives, benefits, and return on investment (ROI). Additionally, they will advise on change management and adoption strategies, assisting in tracking post-implementation benefits as necessary. A critical aspect of this role is ensuring a full handover to operational support and maintenance teams, as well as ensuring that projects are fully closed out with all deliverables completed and approved. The Senior Project Manager will also be actively involved in process improvement activities within the Project Management group and will provide coaching, mentoring, and personal development to others as required. This role encompasses managing projects of all sizes, including portfolios or programs across all service lines, and may involve the development of business cases when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and implement large-scale IT and Business Change projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to scope.

  • Expertise in risk management and test strategy.
  • Excellent leadership, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to comply with company and Project Management processes and methodologies.
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with Agile, waterfall, hybrid methodologies.
  • Experience in CRO / Pharma / Regulatory environments is an advantage.
