About the position

The IT Project Manager at Johns Hopkins University will serve as the primary liaison for Pathology researchers, facilitating their IT needs and coordinating with various teams to develop tailored solutions. This role requires strong project management skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Pathology researchers regarding Research IT services.
  • Bridge the gap between researchers' needs and available IT solutions.
  • Coordinate and develop solutions for Pathology researchers and their vendors on a case-by-case basis.
  • Meet with researchers to assess their compute, storage, and vendor connectivity needs.
  • Complete and finalize discovery on an instrument inventory list.
  • Engage with IT Risk and navigate the Software Intake Process for software needs and requests.
  • Facilitate access to core Research IT services and provide understanding of these services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Five years of IT experience, including project management experience.
  • Knowledge of Ubuntu (Linux) operating system.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting demands effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
