About the position
The IT Senior Project Manager is responsible for implementing and monitoring a variety of medium to large scale IT projects. This role involves collaboration with IT team members and the end user community, working under the general direction of the IT Director of Applications. The position focuses on managing enterprise-wide projects, ensuring compliance with audit requirements, and promoting efficient business operations through effective project management practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage medium to large scale enterprise wide projects by mobilizing resources from different teams.
- Define milestones, create project plans, and establish project structure.
- Monitor project activity, establish release guidelines, and manage release inventory.
- Implement software and enterprise applications to enhance staff productivity and resource usage.
- Publish metrics reporting, status updates, and dashboards; organize periodic review meetings with senior management.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements, SOX, and operational controls.
- Develop and obtain approval for project scope, objectives, and related time schedules.
- Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies, and manage issue logs.
- Assist in the resolution of issues and mitigation of individual risks.
- Liaison with other functional/technical teams for all project activity.
- Assist with selecting methodology and documentation standards for the project team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Business Administration.
- 5+ years of experience in Project Management in Information Technology.
- Knowledge of Project Management tools and methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong relationship building and communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- PMI/PMP and Scrum Master certification.
- Experience with applications related to transportation and logistics for servicing customers in the field.
- Experience with Azure DevOps to manage project user stories and tasks.
- Experience with Excel.
