About the position

The IT Project Manager at Paycom Payroll LLC is responsible for managing medium to large-sized projects, ensuring their successful completion from inception to delivery. This role involves creating project structures and timelines, implementing existing project processes and workflows, and ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The IT Project Manager will oversee project outcomes, communication, implementation, costs, and acceptance, playing a crucial role in the overall project management lifecycle. In this position, the IT Project Manager will plan project resources and conduct feasibility studies to provide a return on investment (ROI) for projects, determining their benefits. They will track project performance, analyze the successful completion of both short- and long-term goals, and meet budgetary objectives while adjusting project constraints based on financial analysis. The role requires developing comprehensive project plans to be shared with stakeholders and the project team, assembling project teams, and allocating resources as necessary. The IT Project Manager will coordinate internal resources and vendors to ensure successful project execution, orienting, assigning, scheduling, and coordinating project tasks. They will manage communication regarding projects, tasks, and changes to relevant business groups, ensuring that work standards are met by adhering to production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards. The role also involves updating job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional publications, enhancing the reputation of the department and organization by accepting ownership of various project assignments. Additionally, the IT Project Manager will coordinate project activities, ensuring that all project phases are documented appropriately, and will rely on their experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Clear documentation of all key decisions and project management deliverables during and after projects is essential. The role may require attending meetings, serving on committees, and working weekends or after hours as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of project management experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant IT experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and coworkers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Subject matter expertise on project management and coordination.
