About the position

The IT Project Manager at the University of Maine System is responsible for overseeing medium- to high-risk information technology projects from inception to completion. This role involves coordinating and supervising both internal and external team members, managing project resources, and ensuring the overall success of projects. The position supports fully remote work and requires effective leadership and communication skills to guide project teams and stakeholders throughout the project management life cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee medium- to high-risk information technology projects to completion.
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of internal and external team members.
  • Assemble and direct the project team, developing project plans and schedules.
  • Manage project resources and ensure overall project success.
  • Monitor and inspect cost, work, and contractor performance.
  • Develop and instill project management best practices throughout the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and three years of recent experience in project management activities.
  • Experience implementing enterprise-level cloud projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and inspire teams toward goal accomplishment.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in application implementation in a higher education or comparable environment.
  • PMP certification or demonstrated progress towards PMP certification.
