About the position

The IT Project Manager at the U.S. Federal Maritime Commission will play a crucial role in aligning team efforts with the Commission's strategic goals. This position involves anticipating roadblocks, solving issues proactively, and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders. The ideal candidate will oversee the implementation of productivity improvement programs, conduct product research, and provide ongoing optimization support to enhance IT systems and methods.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential products and conduct product research.
  • Generate and prioritize product requirements and determine product specifications.
  • Plan and oversee the implementation process of major segments of the productivity improvement program.
  • Perform needs analysis to identify opportunities for new and improved business process solutions.
  • Present briefings to senior IT staff regarding routine IT issues and represent OIT at technical conferences.
  • Provide consultation and guidance to OIT leadership on policy and planning.

Requirements

  • Must have IT-related experience demonstrating attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, applying Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and/or lean principles.
  • Experience providing technical and operational program guidance to agency and senior leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience interfacing with IT vendors and contractors.
  • Knowledge of federal IT systems and applications.
