About the position

The IT Project Manager will lead the development and execution of the regional Project Portfolio roadmap, ensuring the successful implementation of IT solutions that align with business needs. This role involves managing project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications while mitigating risks associated with various initiatives. The position requires a strong understanding of project management methodologies and the ability to coordinate across multiple teams to deliver high-quality results.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead the development and execution of the designated regional Project Portfolio roadmap and deliverables.
  • Act as a trusted partner for the local IT organization to support the implementation of technical solutions defined by the project team.
  • Build implementation timelines for different regional projects and initiatives, ensuring proper baseline and follow-up.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, status reports, and issue logs.
  • Serve as a counselor to the Head of IT in identifying risks and performance deficiencies.
  • Develop and manage the budget for the IT Department portfolio.
  • Act as the local point of coordination for all portfolio deployments across the region.
  • Capture project constraints and specificities during new project implementations.
  • Manage and mitigate all risks associated with regional projects and initiatives.
  • Effectively manage stakeholders across platform teams to reach agreement on conflicting priorities.
  • Coordinate support teams to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks and prevent project delays.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to technical specifications, conducting testing and validation as necessary.
  • Provide weekly overview of the general status of projects across the region.
  • Facilitate communication with project stakeholders to foster agreements and overcome obstacles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Sr Project Manager, Service Delivery Engineer, or PMO.
  • Deep understanding of Project Management methodologies such as PMI, Agile, Prince II, or Scrum.
  • Experience managing multi-million technology implementation projects.
  • Experience managing highly skilled network and system administrator teams.
  • PMP education or experience is preferred.
  • Transportation or Shipping Industry experience is preferred.
  • Active working familiarity with Project Management tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera Project Planner.
  • Extensive relationship management experience and ability to create and maintain an internal network across levels and disciplines.
  • Terminal operations background with exposure to the portfolio operational domain.
  • Experience in demand management and support for IT portfolio management.
  • Experience driving standardization of an IT portfolio across different business units.
  • Sound financial planning and analysis experience (TCO, costs/budgets management).
  • People management and development experience in a virtual, international, and decentralized working setup.
  • Experience working in a matrix organizational model.
