About the position

The Technical Delivery Manager at NetApp is a strategic role focused on managing technology infrastructure initiatives using both Agile and waterfall methodologies. This position requires a proactive approach to orchestrating project outcomes, ensuring effective delivery of on-premise and cloud-based projects. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in infrastructure project management and will be responsible for translating functional requirements into actionable plans, managing project execution, and driving continuous improvement within teams.

Responsibilities

  • Translate functional requirements into the right delivery methodology (waterfall vs Agile) and break the work into milestones and execution plans.
  • Produce and manage Gantt charts for waterfall projects.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, iteration planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives for Agile projects.
  • Manage infrastructure development planning and execution, with significant use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Guide the team in time estimation practices and facilitate work estimates.
  • Drive team iteration execution and communicate with management and stakeholders.
  • Manage uncontrolled injection of work and evaluate changes intentionally.
  • Resolve project conflicts, challenges, and dynamic business requirements.
  • Conduct postmortem and root cause analysis to improve execution practices.
  • Define and implement improvement stories to increase program velocity and quality.
  • Identify and eliminate velocity impediments to facilitate flow.
  • Maintain project data in management software (e.g., JIRA, MS Project) to support estimates and execution.
  • Present high-level project readouts for management.
  • Support the product owner with intra-team dynamics regarding priorities and scope.
  • Manage other special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of infrastructure project management experience and 2 years leading sprints.
  • Deep understanding of iterative and incremental development fundamentals.
  • Demonstrable expertise in agile methodologies and frameworks like Scrum and Kanban.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum theory, rules, and practices.
  • Strong understanding of waterfall project management methodologies and tools (PMO or Prince II certification a plus).
  • Solid experience working with Architecture and engineering teams to assess and size stories/epics.
  • Excellent communication skills in all verbal and written mediums.
  • Self-motivated with high natural energy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Scrum Master certification.
  • Experience with project management software like JIRA or MS Project.
  • Knowledge of SDLC and Agile procedures.
