About the position

The IT Project Manager at Weis Markets is a pivotal role that serves as the primary interface between the project sponsor(s), product manager, and all business units within Weis Markets. This position is responsible for managing the overall project, ensuring that all aspects are aligned with the company's goals and objectives. The IT Project Manager will publish a comprehensive project plan that includes the development schedule, resource requirements, and integration efforts of third-party products. This role requires meticulous planning, scheduling, and controlling of complex business projects that span multiple organizations, ensuring that project deliverables are provided on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications. In addition to project management, the IT Project Manager must ensure that the methodology, processes, and tools are consistently applied as dictated by the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) and adhere to PMBOK Project Management disciplines. The role also involves escalating issues to leadership as necessary and following standards in accordance with company policy and regulations. Although this position currently has no supervisory responsibilities, it plays a crucial role in the success of various projects within the organization, contributing to the overall growth and efficiency of Weis Markets.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary interface for the project to the project sponsor(s) and product manager.
  • Manage the overall project and ensure alignment with Weis Markets Business Units.
  • Publish a comprehensive overall project plan, including development schedule and resource requirements.
  • Plan, schedule, and control activities of complex business projects spanning multiple organizations.
  • Ensure project deliverables are provided on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
  • Ensure consistent use of methodology, processes, and tools as dictated by the EPMO.
  • Escalate issues to leadership as needed.
  • Follow standards in accordance with company policy and regulation.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in computer science/computer engineering or related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience as a business operations manager, project manager, consultant, or business analyst in a role related to Information Technology or Business Processes.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
