The Senior Project Manager role in the IT PMO at Beacon Hill Staffing Group is a pivotal position responsible for the assessment and successful implementation of large-scale IT and Business Change projects. The primary focus of this role is to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to the defined scope. A strong delivery focus is essential, as the Senior Project Manager will be tasked with establishing the appropriate structures, governance, roles, and communication channels necessary for effective project management. In this role, the Senior Project Manager will develop and update project plans, budgets, and resource plans to facilitate project execution and support business case submissions. This includes performing assessments and due diligence on business cases, ensuring they are reviewed by other Project Managers or PMO leadership. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing and proactively reporting on various project elements, including plans, budgets, scope, resources, project decisions, risks, issues, and dependencies. They will maintain and present project metrics to senior management, ensuring transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, the Senior Project Manager will manage relationships and overall engagement with implementation partners, vendors, and all stakeholders involved in the projects. They will provide insights on the overall business value of projects, leveraging their experience to help the team achieve stated objectives, benefits, and return on investment (ROI). The role also involves advising on change management and adoption strategies, as well as assisting in tracking post-implementation benefits as appropriate. The Senior Project Manager will ensure a full handover to operational support and maintenance teams, and will oversee the complete closure of projects, ensuring all deliverables are finalized and approved. The position also includes a focus on process improvement activities within the Project Management group, providing coaching, mentoring, and personal development opportunities for team members as required. The Senior Project Manager will manage projects of all sizes, including portfolios or programs across all service lines, and may be involved in the development of business cases when necessary.
