About the position

The IT Project Manager will oversee the planning, organization, and implementation of technical and application/software projects for a non-profit organization in New York City. This role involves coordinating production releases, managing project intake processes, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring effective communication among team members and stakeholders. The IT Project Manager will also be responsible for reporting project status to executive staff and conducting post-project evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, organizing and implementing the organization's technical and application/software related projects
  • Coordinates production releases and roll-outs, delegating tasks to necessary employees and presenting on projects' progress and results
  • Serves as a point person during project intake process and conducts risk assessments for projects
  • Organizes meetings to discuss project goals and progress, project-related budgeting/expenses and status reports
  • Hands off projects to business units upon project completion
  • Handles requirements gathering prior to project acceptance, including Vendor Qualifications Forms & Documents, Third Party Risk Questionnaires, and Business Requirements Document
  • Gathers post-sales documentation such as Application Profile document and application diagram
  • Manages and participates in multiple concurrent projects
  • Responsible for reporting project status to executive staff and leadership via reports or dashboards
  • Documents instructions for end-users and assists with testing phases of the project
  • Coordinates change requests and adjustments needed during the project
  • Conducts post-project evaluations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and/or Computer Information Systems (or related degree)
  • 4 years of relevant work experience as a project manager, business analyst, project coordinator, or other IT management positions
  • Advanced computer skills and in-depth knowledge of different operating systems, cybersecurity, network administration, and service desk administration
  • Thorough understanding of project management fundamentals (PMP certification required)
  • Experience working in a project management office (preferred)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage a team of employees and vendor/partners
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent judgment and creative issue-resolution skills
  • Working knowledge of project management software (Monday.com preferred)
