About the position

The IT Project Manager role at Aquent Talent involves managing complex projects, particularly focusing on the migration of on-premises infrastructure to the cloud. This hybrid position requires the candidate to work on-site in Hartford, CT for up to three days a week. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and experience with both waterfall and hybrid project management methodologies, along with essential knowledge of AWS and familiarity with MS Office tools and Jira.

Responsibilities

  • Manages, plans, and coordinates activities of projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.
  • Establishes work plan and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • May manage sub-contractors and their workforce.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
  • Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in managing complex IT projects, particularly cloud migration.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in waterfall and hybrid project management methodologies.
  • Essential knowledge of AWS.
  • Familiarity with MS Office tools and Jira.
