About the position

The IT Project Manager at Plymouth Rock Assurance will oversee multiple concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to the organizational Software Development Methodology (SDM). This role involves preparing detailed project plans, monitoring progress, and acting as a liaison between IT and user departments. The successful candidate will keep stakeholders informed and guide project teams in implementing insurance products and enhancing applications that support independent agents and direct consumers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and prepare detailed project plans.
  • Monitor project progress and keep stakeholders informed of developments.
  • Act as a liaison between IT and user departments.
  • Guide, support, and enforce adherence to organizational Software Development Methodology (SDM).
  • Lead a portfolio of complex change and project initiatives aligned with the strategy of Shared Technology Services Group.
  • Implement insurance products for personal and commercial lines.
  • Lead the IT Project team to enhance applications supporting independent agents or direct consumers.
  • Establish project budgets and track progress to keep projects within budget.
  • Execute change and project management practices, including planning timelines and deliverables.
  • Manage system requirements, test procedures, and quality standards.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing and review requirements with stakeholders.
  • Assess project risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Present project strategy and progress to senior management weekly.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in developing detailed systems requirements documents.
  • Experience in developing time and cost estimates for projects.
  • Ability to review and analyze project requests and evaluate business requirements.
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining project plans using project management software.
  • Experience in identifying project risks and updating project plans accordingly.
  • Familiarity with system development methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.

Nice-to-haves

  • Property and Casualty experience in insurance, particularly in personal or commercial lines.
  • Experience implementing insurance products for personal or commercial lines.
  • Experience leading IT project teams to enhance applications for independent agents or direct consumers.
