About the position

The IT Project Manager at the University of Maine System is responsible for overseeing medium- to high-risk information technology projects from inception to completion. This role involves coordinating and supervising both internal and external team members, ensuring that all stages of the project management life cycle are effectively managed. The position supports fully remote work options and may also provide office space on campus if desired.

Responsibilities

• Oversee medium- to high-risk information technology projects to completion.
• Coordinate and supervise the work of internal and external team members.
• Assemble and direct the project team.
• Develop the project plan and schedule.
• Manage project resources and ensure overall project success.
• Monitor and inspect cost, work, and contractor performance.
• Establish and achieve short and long-term goals and strategies.
• Coordinate with other organizations to accomplish goals, monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and three years of recent experience supporting project management activities.
• Experience implementing enterprise-level cloud projects.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, inspire, and guide others toward goal accomplishment.
• Proficiency in the use of project management tools.
• Knowledge of project management principles, methods, and tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in application implementation in a higher education or comparable environment.
• PMP certification or demonstrated progress towards PMP certification.
