About the position

The IT Project Manager at Maine Drilling & Blasting (MD&B) is responsible for coordinating people and processes to ensure timely project delivery and desired outcomes. This role involves maintaining project governance, managing project scope and budget, and providing regular updates to stakeholders using project management tools. The IT Project Manager will also support change management activities and ensure adherence to best practices in project management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and maintain process governance
  • Seek out organizational and technical knowledge and industry trends to identify alternative approaches/solutions
  • Maintain Master Project Plan, scope, and budget
  • Maintain documentation of project decisions
  • Work closely with team leads to manage project scope and team member hours
  • Use the best methodology for the type of project managed
  • Continually optimize technology and operations cost
  • Create reporting mechanisms and tracking methodologies
  • Support long-term adoption and improvement strategy
  • Support the definition and rollout of change management activities
  • Ensure understanding and commitment among strategic decision makers
  • Accountable for project deliverables to be on time, within budget, and agreed specifications
  • Flag potential gaps in scope, business case, risk assessments, and roles & responsibilities
  • Translate data into relevant information and link data sources to business requirements
  • Ensure timely completion of projects with successful implementations
  • Provide project status to manager with recommendations as needed
  • Identify resource needs and track their effort to the task
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong ability to contribute in a collaborative team environment
  • Project Management certification (e.g. PMI, ScrumMaster, etc...)
  • Content-oriented/process-oriented
  • Effective presentation, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, project and program management skills
  • Manage and drive multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly collaborative leadership & communication style
