About the position

The IT Project Manager at Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) is responsible for planning, initiating, and managing information technology projects. This role involves leading technical staff, serving as a liaison between business and technical aspects of projects, and ensuring that project stages are planned and monitored to meet deadlines, standards, and budget targets. The position offers an opportunity to drive innovation and make a significant impact within the college's IT department.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Develop or update project plans for information technology projects, including objectives, technologies, specifications, schedules, funding, and staffing.
  • Manage the development of project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Develop and manage work breakdown structure (WBS) for traditional projects, and Sprints and Boards for Agile projects.
  • Establish and execute a project communication plan.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings related to information technology projects.
  • Monitor or track project milestones and deliverables ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Confer with project stakeholders to identify and resolve problems.
  • Manage identification and definition of project resource roles and responsibilities.
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Initiate, review, or approve modifications to project plans.
  • Perform risk assessments to develop response strategies.
  • Monitor the performance of project team members, providing and documenting performance feedback.
  • Negotiate with project stakeholders or suppliers to obtain resources or materials.
  • Identify need for initial or supplemental project resources.
  • Coordinate recruitment or selection of project personnel.
  • Identify, review, or select vendors or consultants to meet project needs.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets for information technology projects.
  • Assess current or future customer needs and priorities by communicating directly with customers, conducting surveys, or other methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or extensive, relevant work experience.
  • 1,500 hours or one year of documented project management experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or related field.
  • 4,500 hours or three years of documented project management experience.
