About the position

Excelraise, LLC is a rapidly growing full-service IT solutions integrator and talent management company headquartered in Denver, CO. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to work as a Project Manager (Remote Job) with our direct client, the NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Project Management Office. This position is a short-term contract role, approximately 12 months in duration, and is focused on leading the implementation of multiple web-based and/or low-code applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive project management experience, particularly with large and complex automation implementation efforts, and a proven track record of delivering projects within aggressive timelines while adhering to scope, budget, and schedule. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing project risks, costs, schedules, quality, testing, and communications. The role requires hands-on experience in IT application/system development and deployments for multiple clients, as well as the ability to make objective decisions based on strategic objectives, business performance analysis, and resource availability. Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to adapt working styles to ensure compliance with the State's and DHHS' methodologies. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Project Server, Jira, and Confluence is crucial. Additionally, experience with Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid software development frameworks, as well as vendor management on medium or large IT project/system implementations, is required. Knowledge of healthcare and managed care systems, particularly in behavioral health, developmental disabilities, and substance use, will be beneficial for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of multiple web-based and/or low-code applications for the NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
  • Manage project risks, costs, schedules, quality, testing, and communications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Deliver projects and workstreams within aggressive timelines, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Utilize project management tools including Microsoft Project, Project Server, Jira, and Confluence to track progress and manage tasks.
  • Adapt working style to ensure compliance with the State's and DHHS' methodologies.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates and addressing any issues that arise during the project.
  • Conduct market analysis, prepare detailed budgets, and develop business cases for new automation projects.
  • Oversee vendor management for medium or large IT project/system implementations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 8+ years of project management experience, preferably with large, complex automation implementation efforts.
  • Demonstrated experience in IT application/system development and deployments for multiple clients.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Hands-on experience managing project risk, cost, schedule, quality, testing, and communications.
  • Experience implementing applications using Salesforce, MS Dynamics, and/or ServiceNow.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Ability to act independently with sound business judgment and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid work experience with project management tools including Microsoft Project and Project Server, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Experience with Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid software development frameworks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive understanding of MS SharePoint end user experience, sites, libraries, lists, and groups.
  • Familiarity with cost allocation methodologies and developing cost projections.
  • State/federal experience.
  • Team building and change management skills to influence and guide cross-functional teams.
