About the position

The IT Project / Program Manager will oversee selected projects, acting as the primary liaison with clients and stakeholders. This role involves managing projects from inception to closure, ensuring adherence to project management fundamentals and maintaining communication with all parties involved.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Project /Program Manager on selected projects and primary liaison with clients and stakeholders for those projects.
  • Manage projects and programs from business case to project closure, following PMI project management fundamentals.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate project requirements, plans, and schedules with project and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project process and project output quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct project closure, including post-mortems for completed and abandoned projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience managing complex projects, with a strong emphasis on technology infrastructure and deployment projects.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience working with complex organizations that have academic, research, and/or revenue-generating components.
  • Prior experience implementing customer management and/or engagement management platform(s).
  • Experience with project management applications and systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio or similar work- or data-flow modeling tools.
  • Experience with PMI's PMBOK and associated processes and recommendations.
  • Proven experience with Project Planning, including Work Breakdown Structures, Risk Management, and Stakeholder and Communication Management.
  • Familiarity with relational database concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus, maintaining good standing with PMI throughout the certification period.
  • Familiarity with other project management methodologies.
